Celebrating Lunar New Year Cincinnati 2024!

Lunar New Year (LNY) collectively refers to many of the East and South East Asian celebrations of the New Year that follow the Lunar Calendar. Like other Lunar Calendar-based holidays, the dates shift on the Gregorian Calendar but usually fall in late-January or early-February. This is the Year of the Dragon, which holds special significance as dragons are associated with strength, good fortune, and wisdom in Asian culture.

Families and friends gather for reunion dinners and exchange gifts. Red decorations symbolizing good luck and prosperity are commonly seen, and people often wear traditional clothing.
Each East / South East Asian country adds its unique cultural touch to the celebrations, making Lunar New Year a fun and memorable occasion throughout the region.

This year, we are listing all the Lunar New Year celebrations we know that are held in Greater Cincinnati (including our very own Lunar New Year collaboration event at Gatherall), which include family friendly events with performances, galas, late night parties, and restaurant specials.
